Registration in the UAE
Vaporesso announced in January 2023 that it had been registered by the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), describing itself as the first open-system vaping brand to get that approval, starting with XROS models. Later that year it announced MoIAT certification for further products.
We haven’t seen an equivalent public announcement from SMOK. That doesn’t tell you a specific SMOK product isn’t compliant; it only means Vaporesso has been more public about it. Pods and coils
Vaporesso’s entry kits use XROS or Luxe Q pods with the coil built in. From our listings: the XROS Cube takes 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω pods; the Luxe QS takes 0.6Ω and 1.0Ω mesh pods. That covers tight salt vaping and a looser restricted-lung draw.
SMOK’s Novo X ships with two 0.8Ω pods, one dual-coil and one mesh, which makes it a neat way to compare coil types; see mesh vs regular coils. The Novo 4 handles 0.4Ω to 3.0Ω at 5 to 25W. The Nord X takes RPM and RPM 2 coils at up to 60W, which puts it in sub-ohm, cloud territory.

IP67 means sealed against dust and brief submersion. For beach days, desert trips or a job where the device takes knocks, the Nord X is the toughest kit of the bunch.

- Want to try mesh vs regular: SMOK Novo X.
