Short answer: Pod systems are small rechargeable vapes that take a replaceable pod. Closed systems, such as Myle V5 Meta and JUUL2, use sealed prefilled pods. Closed or open: the first fork
A closed pod system takes only its own brand’s sealed pods. You click one in, vape it, and replace it. An open pod system has a pod with a fill port, so you choose the e-liquid, the nicotine strength and the flavour. Closed is simpler. Open costs less to run and gives you more choice.

What does a pod kit cost in Dubai?
Most open pod kits on our shelf sit between AED 85 and AED 140. Above that you move into larger pod mods with external-style batteries and higher wattage, such as the VooPoo Drag 3 at AED 230. For a first refillable kit, there’s rarely a reason to spend more than AED 150.

Coils, pods and resistance in two minutes
Every open pod has a coil inside, a small heating element wrapped in wicking cotton. Coil resistance is measured in ohms (Ω). Higher resistance, around 0.8Ω to 1.2Ω, gives a tighter mouth-to-lung (MTL) draw that suits nicotine salts. Lower resistance, around 0.4Ω to 0.6Ω, gives a looser, cloudier draw that suits low-nicotine freebase liquid.

The one habit that saves most new pod users
Prime the pod. Fill it, then wait about five minutes before the first puff so the cotton soaks through. Skip the wait and the coil fires dry, burns the cotton and tastes scorched from then on. Who should pick which
Pick a closed system if you want zero upkeep and like one brand’s flavours. Expect to pay much more per millilitre.

What is the difference between a pod system and a disposable?
A pod system has a rechargeable battery you keep, and you replace only the pod. A disposable is one sealed unit you replace whole once the liquid runs out.
Can I use any e-liquid in an open pod kit?
Most open pods take both nicotine salt and freebase liquid, but match the liquid to the coil. Salts suit 0.8Ω and above. Low-nicotine freebase suits lower resistance.
How often do I change the pod or coil?
When the flavour fades or tastes burnt. It depends on your liquid and how often you vape, not on a fixed number of days.
